Beers for a Baseball Game
Baseball – the national pastime. There might not be a better sporting event to go hand in hand with sipping beer.
Especially if you’re the type of baseball fan who falls asleep (beer in hand) midway through a game and wakes up just in time to catch the last inning. It’s OK, it happens to the best of us.
Luckily for us here at your favorite Beltsville beer spot we have the option of attending or viewing two teams on any given night. Even luckier is that both of these ballparks made the top 10 for baseball stadiums with craft beer according to the Daily Meal. We’ve pieced together some ideas for you to take to your next ballpark tailgate or living room attendance.
Baltimore Orioles, Camden Yards
Obviously, Natty Boh. I mean, seriously. Yeah, OK, it’s not a craft beer but National Bohemian and O’s games go together like crab cakes and football. It’s what Maryland does.
Two other beers to include in your cooler or refrigerator are a choice from Heavy Seas (perhaps Loose Cannon?) and also Frederick, MD-based Flying Dog’s new summer beer: Dead Rise.
Washington Nationals, Nationals Park
For a warm summer Nationals game we think a bunch of cans from DC Brau fit the best. The Public Ale would particularly go well as a nice relaxing brew.
Now, the Nationals are still a relatively young team (they’ve only been in DC since 2005) so perhaps a case of Bud Light is in order.
Also, honestly, a case of any light American beer is solid purchase for tailgating games provided you also have a few good ones for yourself and a handful of friends. You can collect some new BFFs by giving away some of the cheap beer to strangers and feel guilt-free about doing so.
