Girl Scout Cookie Beer Pairings

Yes, you read that correctly. It’s that time of year again and we’re here to prepare you how to enjoy these boxes of tasty treats like an adult (or a big, of-age child).

We’re fans of heavier beers with our sugary treats so you’ll notice a lot of porter and stout recommendations on this list. Feel free to expand outside this list and try other flavor combinations. These are merely suggestions and by no means a comprehensive rulebook by any means.

Let us know what your favorite pairings are in the comments below!

Thin Mints

The apparent heavy weight champion of Girl Scout cookies deserves something heavy like a stout or porter. Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter is a good bet.

Samoas

Coconut, caramel and chocolate – oh my! Clearly this could go with any chocolate stout mentioned here but why not reach a bit and go for something with a little bit of citrus aroma to pair with the coconut? Perhaps something along the lines of Flying Dog’s Raging Bitch, a Belgian-style IPA.

Tagalongs

Peanut butter and chocolate. We enjoy tagging Rogue’s Chocolate Stout for this pairing. A great combination helps

Trefoils

I typically enjoy coffee with shortbread so it’s no surprise we’re promoting a coffee-flavored beer with this shortbread cookie. Troeg’s Java Head Stout can sometimes be a bit harsh for some people to have more than one in a row. Give it a try with these cookies and let us know what you think!

Do-si-dos

Peanut butter sandwiches. What more do you need to know? Munch down a few of these with a Founders Breakfast Stout and thank us later.
